I am a state board licensed mental health therapist associate, with over 6 years of experience in the field. I earned my master’s in science at Indiana University in School Counseling, Counseling Education. I furthered my experience while earning my certification at Butler University for Clinical Mental Health, where I also completed my clinical hours, internship at Hope Haven Psychological Resources.
I love to learn and understand people from the perspective of personalities are developed through early parent-child interactions. How were your needs met as a child? Who were the main caregivers growing up? What do you remember most about your childhood, how did it leave you feeling? Are areas that I love to explore with individuals. As a therapist, I am passionate about examining how one’s unconscious impulses, drives and desires affect their psychological health and personalities. This may be hard to explore, as it often involves a great deal of vulnerability, comfort. However, I feel change and personal growth can occur through a strong therapeutic alliance, empathy and genuineness between the client and therapist.
Although I enjoy the techniques of a psychodynamic approach, psychoanalytic approach, I understand the significance of an integrative approach, the use of a variety of interventions and techniques that are equitable to the client’s needs and unique cultural experiences.
Additionally, I specialize in, not limited to, marriage and family, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, abuse and trauma, and life transitions. I work with adolescents and adults of all ages and will work in a multidisciplinary manner as needed, to support the holistic development of an individual.
