Alice N. Njunge, MSW, is a Social Worker and Mental Health Clinician practicing in the State of Indiana. She provides services as a Mental Health Clinician, Medical Social Worker, School-Based Therapist, and Home-Based Therapist, supporting individuals, families, and communities across a variety of settings. 

Ms. Njunge holds both a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University–Indianapolis. Her graduate-level practicum included placements with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and St. Vincent Hospital, where she gained experience in both medical and mental health social work. During her undergraduate training, she completed practicum experiences at Mary Rigg Community Services as a Case Manager and at Children’s Bureau (now Firefly Children & Family Alliance), where she worked with DCS family reunification cases, home-based services, CCDF programming, and conducted home case studies. 

In addition to her social work education, Ms. Njunge holds an Associate Degree in General Studies from Ivy Tech Community College (Columbus, Indiana), with coursework in pre-nursing and medical assisting. She was accepted into the Indiana School of Nursing, where she completed two semesters of nursing studies. She also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from St. Paul University in Nairobi, Kenya, and an Associate Degree in Evangelism from Carlile College (formerly Church Army Evangelism College) under Anglican Church leadership. 

Ms. Njunge has facilitated therapeutic services in schools, community-based home settings, hospitals, residential treatment centers, and juvenile facilities. Her professional experience also includes work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Social Worker, as well as independent contractor roles within behavioral health and community-based programs. 

Her therapeutic approach emphasizes healing, calm, and emotional safety, meeting clients where they are and building upon individual strengths. Ms. Njunge is deeply committed to fostering hope, reflection, insight, and personal growth, while honoring the courage it takes to attend to one’s inner emotional life. She values resilience, determination, and the inherent dignity of each person, and practices from a person-in-environment, client-centered perspective, grounded in empathy, patience, kindness, and unconditional positive regard. 

Ms. Njunge’s clinical work is informed by a range of evidence-based and integrative modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Deep Breathing Practices, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Practice, Supportive Counseling, Attachment-Based Interventions, Person-Centered Therapy, and Insight-Oriented Approaches. 

In addition to her clinical work, Ms. Njunge has demonstrated leadership and service within professional, academic, and faith-based communities. She has served as a Board Member of the Indiana University School of Social Work Alumni Association, participated on committees for Alumni Continuing Education Conferences, Social Work Campaign initiatives, and Website Taskforce development, and has been involved with Indiana University Undergraduate Student Government and the Hoosiers for Higher Education Committee. She is also a former member of the NASW Cored Committee and is engaged within the small business community in Indiana. 

Internationally, Ms. Njunge has held leadership roles with Carlile College as an Alumni Coordinator, where she planned retreats and professional refresher courses. For over nine years, she served on the College Constitution Committee and has dedicated significant service to the Anglican Church in Nairobi, Kenya, where she held the role of Diocesan Evangelism Coordinator.
