Martha Davis, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist
Martha-Davis

Dr. Davis is a licensed child psychologist with over 15 years of experience in the field. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. Davis was a classroom teacher in California, Illinois, and in several school districts in the Indianapolis area. After many years of classroom teaching, Dr. Davis noted that the learning capability of an increasing number of students was hampered by their emotional and behavioral challenges. As a result, she enrolled in the clinical psychology program at the University of Indianapolis where she earned both a Master’s degree in 2007 and a Doctorate in 2010. Her schooling also afforded her the opportunity to work as an intern at a residential treatment facility for troubled youth in Muncie, Indiana.

From 2012 until 2017, Dr. Davis completed psychoeducational evaluations for special education eligibility, coordinated the testing program for high ability placement, and provided individual and group therapy for the Lawrence Township School District. She also served as a trained therapist in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with families of young children with emotional and behavioral challenges. PCIT is a coaching model for teaching and supporting positive parenting skills. Additionally, she consulted with classroom teachers, behavior mentors, principals, school psychologists, and other school personnel who have direct contact with children in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. She also co-led a training and coaching model for teachers, Teacher-Child Interaction Training (TCIT), which is a tier-one intervention for enhancing the teacher-child relationship.

Dr. Davis joined the Hope Haven Psychological Resource practice in 2018. She has provided in-person therapy and teletherapy for children and adolescents as well as continuing to coach parents using the PCIT model. Additionally, she provides services as part of the diagnostic team.
